This month, we are featuring one of our top senior consultants, Andrew Newcombe.
Andrew joined the British Army in 1996 initially in the Royal Army Medical Corp qualifying as a Combat Medical Technician Class 1 BARTS / BATLS. In 2000, he transferred the Household Cavalry Regiment in Windsor as a member of C Squadron, leaving the Army in late 2003 with three operational tours of Bosnia Herzegovina.
He then joined the Metropolitan Police, passing out of Hendon training school as class captain in 2004. Andrew was then posted to the London Borough of Hackney one of the busiest boroughs in London with a large amount of gun, gang and knife crime. After a spell on the response team, he moved onto the plainclothes task force dealing with the initial response to firearms incidents, robberies, and prolific offenders. Andrew left the Metropolitan Police in 2008 with five QSR’s and a commendation for determination and professionalism while dealing with fatally injured members of the public.
Moving into the private security industry, Andrew has spent the last 12 years working in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria, supporting large corporations such as SHELL, BP, and the British Embassy (FCO).
Starting as an Armed Close Protection Officer / Tier 2 medic, then Armed Protection Team leader, and transitioning through Regional Training Manager, Corporate Security Manager, and finally Security Director of Operations for an international security consultancy.
